Customs Clearance and Registration
If you go to a country in which we are represented, we can offer to handle local customs clearance and registration on local license plates. If we are not represented locally we will help you find a recommended clearing agent, who can assist you.
Approximately one week after the shipment is sent you will receive a bill of lading together with invoices and insurance certificates for customs clearance purposes. For safety reasons the documents are forwarded by DHL courier service.
On the bill of lading, a suggested clearing agent is stated and it is advisable to contact them immediately after you receive the documents, this way we can start the final clearing procedures. Please note that the final clearing procedure can only be arranged by the client and will involve presentation of tax-exemption to the agent. Customs clearance and registration costs vary from country to country.
Please note that most countries require that you are present at customs to sign the papers before tax exemption is granted and final customs clearance can be arranged.
For a limited number of countries a special pre-shipment inspection of goods is required due to import regulations.
If this is applicable to your order, we will provide you with information on how to proceed.
